Parts of induction motor
Large Electrical motor consist of many part these are:
Stator :
Stator is main part of induction motor made up assembly of many silicon steel sheel. Silicon steel sheet are used to removed eddy current loss. Winding coil is mounted on it
Rotor :
Rotor is rotating part of
Induction motor it is also made up assembly of many silicon steel sheet. Some rotor are wounded by copper rod and short circuit by end ring.
Radiator :
Radiator are generally used in water cooled induction motor. To reduce motor from over heat two radiators are assembled in motor and connected with permanent water supply.
Blower :
Blower is used to blow air for cooling of motor. Blower generally used in air cooled motor differ from water cooled. One side of motor connected with blower and another side is connected with silencer to reduce noise of air blower.
Copper Rod /coil :
Copper rod and coil is very important part of motor used for winding. Copper rod/coil is conductor of electricity. Copper rod or coil is used for two type of winding lap winding and wave winding. Electric current flow in copper winding make a magnetic flux which generate torque used for rotor rotating.
RTD (Resistance temperature detector) :
RTD is a platinum rod which is fitted under each winding in stator of motor. It is high temperature detector thus it is used for resistance temperature rise of motor
BTD : Bearing Temperature Detector:
It is same platinum rod little bit thicher than rtd it used to to detect bearing temperature rise of electrical motor
Bearing :
It is very important part of motor which is used to hold motor shaft and provide smooth rotation
According to the motor Power and capacity various types of bearing used these are
1. Ball bearing - it is used for small domestic motor
2.Roller bearing - it is used some bigger motor to hold more load and rotation
3. Tapered roller bearing - it is mostly used in slip ring induction motor
4.sleeve Bearing - it is used for very big industrial motor providing permanent oil supply to the bearing.
