Induction motor


 Induction motor is a electric device which convert electrical energy into mechanical energy.

These are two types based on rotor 

1. Squirrel cage

2. Slip Rings ( rotor wound)

Induction motor consist of 

1. Stator as shown in fig.

2. Rotor

Based on shaft it is further classified as 

1 horizon shaft induction motor 

2. Vertical shaft induction motor
